Posted Regional at Oct 04, 2010

By WBCWS Media
One in four women in the United States will be victims of Domestic Violence at some point in their lives.
That number is even higher for women of color: one in three Native women will be victims of Domestic Violence at some juncture of their lives.
Throughout the month of October, shelters and other women’s and men’s organizations across the country  will be remembering those who have been victims of Domestic Violence and working to ensure these victims’ voices are not silent.
The White Buffalo Calf Woman Society will be hosting several events during the month of October.
· Oct. 6 is a National day of Unity and White Buffalo will be hosting their annual walk in Rosebud beginning at 9 a.m.  The walk will start at HIS, stop at the courthouse and also visit Spotted Tail Cemetery ending at Tribal building.
· The White Buffalo Calf Woman Society will be hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness walk in Ideal.
· On Oct. 22, the WBCWS will host a walk in St. Francis.
· Oct. 27 is the date of the WBCWS’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
